LinkedIn's Weekly Connection Request Limit: What's Official and What's Not

Search for LinkedIn's weekly connection request limit and you'll find a different number on every page: 100, 200, 50, "about 20 a day". LinkedIn's own help page, which ranks first, doesn't give a number at all.

Here's what LinkedIn actually publishes, what tool vendors report (and where it comes from), how the limit resets, and how teams reach more people without hitting it.

The short answer

LinkedIn confirms there's a limit on invitations but doesn't publish the number. Its Help Center says "All LinkedIn members, including those with Basic and Premium accounts, are subject to these limits," and that when you hit one, "This restriction typically lasts one week."

The figures you see elsewhere come from tool vendors and users. They're commonly put at around 100 invitations a week, with higher figures reported for Sales Navigator, but they vary by account.

What LinkedIn officially says

From Invitation limit reached and Types of restrictions for sending invitations:

  • Everyone has a limit. "All LinkedIn members, including those with Basic and Premium accounts, are subject to these limits."
  • It usually lasts a week. "This restriction typically lasts one week." Most restrictions "will automatically be removed within one week."
  • Withdrawing doesn't help. "Withdrawing pending invitations will not remove the restriction." After you withdraw an invitation, "you won't be able to resend an invite to the same recipient for up to three weeks."
  • You can't pay your way out. "You cannot buy or acquire more invitations while restricted," and "LinkedIn cannot remove or shorten the wait period."
  • Too many pending invitations means a longer wait. If you're restricted for too many outstanding invitations: "Wait for up to one month before attempting to send another invitation."
  • Personalized notes have their own limit. "Basic and free LinkedIn members can include a personalized message to five connection requests per month. LinkedIn Premium members can send unlimited personalized messages with their connection requests."
  • There's a network cap. "LinkedIn members can have up to 30,000 1st-degree connections." At that point, you "will not be able to accept or send new connection invitations unless you remove connections." (Network size limit)

Why LinkedIn restricts invitations

LinkedIn lists these reasons on its restrictions page:

  • "You've sent many invitations within a short amount of time."
  • "Many of your invitations have been ignored, left pending, or marked as spam by the recipients."
  • "If you send an excessive number of invitations and we suspect the use of an automation tool, we may suspend or restrict your account."

What tools and users report

These are not LinkedIn's numbers. Treat them as rough reference points.

SourceWhat it reports
Botdog Help Center (automation vendor)"LinkedIn doesn't publish official limits, but based on Botdog's data": free accounts around 50 a week; Premium / Sales Navigator 150–200 a week
DesignRush, Oct 19, 2026"roughly 100 invitations a week on free and Premium accounts, and 150 to 200 on Sales Navigator," described as "community-observed figures"
gtm-api.com co-founder, quoted by DesignRushSome accounts are on a newer daily limit "around 10 invitations a day depending on the account," which can put weekly capacity below 100. The article says these are the company's observations, not LinkedIn's limits

The common thread: limits vary by account. Age, activity and how many of your invitations get accepted all seem to matter, which is consistent with LinkedIn's own list of reasons above.

Does Premium raise the weekly connection limit?

LinkedIn doesn't say it does. Its Help Center applies the limits to "Basic and Premium accounts" alike. What Premium does change, per LinkedIn, is personalized notes: unlimited for Premium, five a month for free accounts. Vendor reports of higher limits for Premium and Sales Navigator are their own observations.

When does the LinkedIn connection limit reset?

LinkedIn says an invitation restriction "typically lasts one week" and most clear automatically within a week. If you're restricted for too many outstanding invitations, it can be up to a month. LinkedIn doesn't publish a reset day or time.

How to avoid hitting the limit

LinkedIn's own advice, from the restrictions page:

  • "Only send invitations to people you know and trust."
  • "Provide context by adding a personalized message with your invitation, explaining how you know the recipient, or why you'd like to connect with them."
  • "Use InMail and Groups to network with LinkedIn members you don't know."

Also: don't use automation. LinkedIn says it may suspend or restrict accounts when it suspects an automation tool, and that "Repeated suspensions may result in permanent restriction of your LinkedIn account."

How teams reach more people when one account isn't enough

The limit applies per account. Nothing raises it, so teams that need more reach add more people sending, each within their own account's limits:

  • Your own team. Sales and leadership send from their own profiles.
  • InMail. LinkedIn's paid route for people you don't know.
  • Groups. LinkedIn suggests Groups for networking with members you don't know.
